Tracy Hans, MS, LPC, ACS
Psychotherapist
Tracy Hans, M.S., LPC, ACS, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology and has had extensive training in interactive counseling approaches. Tracy is available for individual, group, and family counseling.
In her early work, she encountered an increasing number of patients struggling with attention and performance difficulties, often associated with fatigue and pain. This prompted a deeper study of the interaction between neurological or brain health, and behavior (the close ties of physical health with emotional wellbeing). In 2007 she began attending post-graduate conferences, medical conferences and pursuing a varied continuing education curriculum, as well as collaborating closely with several physicians to improve her understanding of high complexity illness. Tracy became versed in the dynamic interplay of infections, toxicity, and inflammation that results in neurological and psychiatric manifestations. She developed a passion for meeting the needs of people struggling with often invisible neuro-biological illness. She has guided many patients of Dr. Leventhal in their journey through complex illness, supporting them through their recovery and helping with re-entry into school or careers.
In addition to providing counseling, Tracy facilitates groups, community events, and trainings to help people feel empowered in their care and take an active role toward wellness and recovery. She guides them through the process of improving their understanding of factors affecting their health and wellbeing. Tracy’s work incorporates techniques from brain retraining and many other behavioral approaches to help people cope with and heal from complex illness. She is extremely well-versed in Integrative Medicine and optimal wellness. Her services are available in both Rockland and Bergen counties.
